COACHING FAQs
How would you describe Align’s coaching process?

We guide people through a conversational process driven by questions and stories focused on their identity and purpose, allowing you to make connections between your past and present while considering who you are and what your want so you can reclaim the direction of your life and career.

How does the process start?

It begins with a free conversation (“coaching consultation”) to discuss what’s going on in the potential client’s life and learn how coaching would be helpful. This can be done in person or by phone/FaceTime and gives both the potential client and coach an opportunity to determine if they are a good match. If they both decide to move forward, a coaching plan is developed and the process begins.

What does a typical “coaching plan” look like?

Most of Align’s clients complete the coaching process within five or six sessions over a few months.

What do clients get from the Align coaching process?

In addition to dedicated time to consider your identity and purpose – which leads to increased self-understanding, vocational clarity and healthier relationships – you will learn five important things about yourself:

  1. Your current life goal
  2. Your essential values
  3. Your career anchor
  4. Your top strengths and/or personality type
  5. Your purpose statement
Bonus: you will also get a prioritized list of what is needed to live out your personal values, goals and mission.
How long are sessions and how much does coaching cost?

Coaching sessions are 75-90 minutes long and the cost of a standard coaching package (as described above) is $515.

Who is a good candidate for coaching?

Coaching is often utilized by people facing a big decision or preparing for a transition, and it is definitely helpful during these times, but after ten years of helping people navigate the various choices, challenges and changes in their lives we have found coaching to be helpful to anyone at anytime in their life.

What advice would you give someone looking for a coach?

A coach will provide the questions, encouragement and accountability to make the discoveries and choices you want/need to make, but it will only lead to significant and lasting change if you are committed to the process and prepared to do the work. Some questions to consider while preparing yourself for coaching:

What do I want and what am I willing to do/give up to get it?
What do I hope to learn about myself?
What do I think is getting in the way of having the life I want / being the person I want to be?

Finally, it’s important to find a coach who is a good fit for your personality, situation, expectations and budget. This “fit” is important to the coach too – which is why we offer a free intro session.
